I co-sign all your Teen Wolf thoughts. I was baffled, as I watched S1-2 while reading fic people had recced to me, at the distance which existed between the fic characterisation of Derek and the show's characterisation of Derek. But then I realised that hey, Jeff Davis doesn't give a fuck about character consistency or development or consequences, and literally almost any fannish characterisation makes more sense, so why not run with it?
